The Macomb County Bar Foundation Trustees Law School Scholarship is awarded to a second or third year law student who demonstrates a commitment to serve or contribute to the Macomb County legal community, a need for financial assistance, and high scholastic achievement. The $3,000 scholarship originates from the generous contributions of the Foundation’s Trustees.

Kimberly M. Cahill Leadership Memorial Scholarship
Continuing Her Legacy of Leadership and Education
The Kimberly M. Cahill Leadership Memorial Scholarship is to be awarded to a second or third year law student who is currently enrolled in law classes at any accredited Michigan law school. The recipient should demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership and the ability to inspire and effectively lead others to a defined objective. The recipient must also demonstrate a need for financial assistance and an academic standing (3.0 GPA or above). This $3,000 scholarship originates from the generous contributions to the MCBF’s Kimberly M. Cahill Memorial Fund and honors the memory of Kimberly M. Cahill who passed away January 21, 2008.

About Kimberly M. Cahill (1960-2008)
Ms. Cahill was a distinguished Macomb County lawyer who possessed outstanding leadership skills that were an inspiration to the countless thousands with whom she interacted. She served not only as President of the Foundation, but also as President of the Macomb County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and State Bar of Michigan. She held leadership positions in numerous professional and civic organizations for which she was honored with many awards and accolades including the Roberts P. Hudson Award from State Bar of Michigan and the Founder’s Award from the Michigan State Bar Foundation. A 1985 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Cahill practiced law for more than 20 years with her mother, Florence Schoenherr-Warnez, and sister, Dana M. Warnez, with offices in Center Line, Michigan. Although Ms. Cahill was widely known and admired for her prodigious professional accomplishments that spanned a relatively brief period of only 20 years, she was equally known and admired for her exemplary personal traits of character, her extraordinary kindness and warmth of spirit, her compassion for others, her civility and impeccable manners, her sparking sense of humor, all of which portrayed a genuinely fine human being who was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Philip F. Greco Memorial Scholarship
The Macomb County Bar Foundation Philip F. Greco Memorial Scholarship is to be awarded to a second or third year law student who is currently enrolled in law classes at any accredited Michigan law school, have good academic standing, demonstrates financial need and a commitment to serve the Macomb County Legal community.
About Philip F. Greco (1916-1998)
Mr. Greco was a distinguished Macomb County lawyer who founded the title company that bears his name. Throughout his outstanding life and career, Mr. Greco demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the betterment of the legal and civic communities. He was widely recognized as an expert in real estate law and gratuitously lent his considerable talents to assist attorneys and other practitioners in the real estate industry to resolve complex legal problems. He was an active participant and held leadership positions in numerous professional, charitable and civic organizations. A 1944 graduate of the Detroit College of Law. Mr. Greco is a Past President of the Macomb County Bar Association and one of the founders of the Macomb County Bar Foundation. The awards and honors he received during his lifetime are too numerous to mention in this limited space.
